Mr. Brian Hayes is a seasoned attorney with over two decades experience in a wide array of personal injury cases, including product liability, catastrophic injury, toxic tort, premises liability, and insurance defense.  Mr. Hayes also focuses on commercial litigation, employment disputes, and consumer fraud cases.

Mr. Hayes joined the firm over 15 years ago, and serves as the legal strategist behind many of the record-breaking settlements that Law Offices of Ira N. Katz has obtained for clients. With his unique background and astute instincts, Mr. Hayes is able to anticipate insurance defense strategy and often counter with advance litigation techniques.

Mr. Hayesearned his Juris Doctorate from Pepperdine University School of Law, and his Bachelor of Arts degreefrom Indiana University. Mr. Hayes is a member of the California State Bar.

Ira N. Katz, Esq.

Founder & Principal

Respected consumer attorney, Ira N. Katz has garnered 31 years of experience in litigating and resolving personal injury, employment law, and criminal law cases for plaintiffs and defendants.

Mr. Katz's zealous advocacy skills stems from his New York roots. His move to California in the late 1970’s to attend law school, and subsequent tenure at the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office, have granted him a unique perspective to become an effective negotiator and experienced trial lawyer. Mr. Katz's tempered congeniality and broad legal background, have earned him a reputation in the legal community as a lawyer with integrity, a strong sense of fairness, and an impressive track record of satisfied clients.

Mr. Katz received his Juris Doctorate from University of West Los Angeles, and his Bachelor of Arts from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Mr. Katz is a member in good standing of the California State Bar  and admitted to practice before the Central Federal District Courts of California.

Romy Cooper

Lead Litigation Assistant

As the lead litigation assistant of the firm, Ms. Romy Cooper oversees all administrative staff and directs client relationships. Ms. Cooper also is tasked with new case development and carefully evaluates the broad range of cases that come to Law Offices of Ira N. Katz and, ultimately, recommends whether cases are viable and fit with the firm’s core mission.

Ms. Cooper has been an integral part of the firm’s success for over 16 years and has significant experience with civil proceedings and facilitating the operational efficiency of Mr. Katz and all Associates. Most importantly, her superb communication skills and positive energy resonates well with clients, and has prompted past clients to refer their friends and family.
